New Member Party and RSR 25th Anniversary Celebration Postponed Yesterday, Governor Whitmer asked all Michiganders to voluntarily hunker down once more as Michigan’s infection and hospitalization rates are soaring once again. When we started planning this event, we were seeing less than 1,000 new Covid cases/day. Now we are seeing rates approaching 8,000 new cases/day. At the moment, Michigan is considered to be the nation’s hot spot for surging Covid numbers. As difficult a decision as it is, I believe we have no choice as a responsible organization but to honor the Governor’s request, and am postponing our planned New Member Party and RSR 25th Anniversary Celebration. We are all bone tired of the pandemic and want desperately for 2021 to be different from 2020. With vaccination rates increasing rapidly in Michigan and across the country, there is a good chance that can happen, but we are not clear yet and need to be mindful of the surging numbers, including frightening new infection rates right here in Washtenaw County. With the help of the vaccines, we can hopefully round the corner toward true recovery soon. In the meantime, please be careful, safe, and healthy. If we all pitch in and do what needs to be done, we will gather to celebrate sometime soon. Stay tuned! Peter Grant Rally Sport Region President
